Why this site exists.
Our mission
The Bitcoin Transition exists because the existing monetary system is not neutral. Every fiat currency in history has been debased. Every central bank has broken the trust placed in it. The destruction is not accidental — it is structural.
Satoshi understood this. Bitcoin was not designed to be a better stock. It was designed to make the question of monetary trust obsolete. To replace institutional promise with cryptographic proof.
We are here to explain that distinction — and to help people act on it.
The problem we are solving
Most Bitcoin education is confused about what Bitcoin is. Half of it treats Bitcoin as an asset class — something to buy low and sell high, to be measured against the dollar, to be held in a portfolio alongside stocks and bonds. The other half treats it as a technology curiosity — a novel consensus mechanism, a distributed database, an interesting experiment.
Both framings miss what Bitcoin actually is: a monetary protocol. A system for moving value between parties without a trusted third party. The first such system in history. The direct answer to a problem — institutional debasement of currency — that has recurred in every society that has tried to solve it by finding better institutions.
Our position
We write from the tradition of hard money, Austrian economics, and Satoshi's original design goals. This means we do not treat Bitcoin as an investment. We do not denominate its value in fiat. We do not track its price. We do not offer trading advice.
We explain what Bitcoin was built for, why it matters, and how to use it — starting from first principles and ending with practical action. Everything else is noise.
Who this is for
This site is for anyone who senses that the fiat system is structurally failing and wants to understand why — and what the alternative actually is. Individuals, families, small businesses, entrepreneurs, anyone building for more than a single quarter at a time.
It is not for day traders, crypto influencers, altcoin enthusiasts, or anyone looking for quick returns. If you want price predictions, you are in the wrong place.
The Bitcoin Education Foundation
The Bitcoin Transition is the publishing arm of the Bitcoin Education Foundation — a non-commercial project dedicated to explaining Bitcoin from first principles, in the voice of the protocol itself. All educational content is free. All tools are free. All courses are free. There is no upsell. There is no paid membership.
Consulting services and business advisory exist as a commercial arm to fund the educational mission. If you do not need consulting, nothing on this site is gated.
“It might make sense just to get some in case it catches on.”
